Chiropractic is the foundation of our holistic center because it activates optimal functioning of the nervous system. And that is at the core of human health, as the entire infrastructure of individual systems within the body relies on the nervous system as the means of communication. Through balancing of the spine, cranium and extremities, chiropractic provides the basis for an optimal environment for clear, unimpeded inter-system, and intra-system communication.
At Holistic Health and Wellness, Applied Kinesiology (AK) is the cornerstone chiropractic technique. AK employs muscle testing to achieve pinpoint diagnoses and allow meaningful healing to take place immediately! AK is founded on the principles of the triad of health; the mental, chemical and structural components that interact to comprise overall wellness. All of these components need to be addressed to regain optimal function and health. It is a systematic approach to determine what is wrong holistically and the best course of action to get to the root cause.
Acupuncture
The ancient Chinese believed that there is a universal life energy call Chi present in every living creature. This energy is said to circulate throughout the body along specific pathways that are called meridians. As long as this energy flows freely throughout the meridians, health is maintained, but once the flow of energy is blocked, the system is disrupted and pain and illness occur. This ancient healing art uses very fine needles placed in acupuncture points and around scar tissue to restore a balanced flow of Chi or life force energy through the meridians or pathways. We also employ Tsing using a blunt instrument to stimulate acupuncture points and electro-acupuncture, if the patient is afraid of needles.
Laser Auriculotherapy
Laser Auriculotherapy is stimulation of the auricle of the external ear with needles or electrodes to alleviate health conditions in other parts of the body. While originally based upon the ancient Chinese practices of acupuncture, the somatotropic correspondence of specific parts of the body to specific parts of the ear was first developed in France. This integrated system of Chinese and Western practices of auricular acupunctureis available at Holistic Health & Wellness, specufically for in smoking cessation and weight release.
High Intensity Laser Therapy
High Intensity Laser Therapy increases and speeds cellular repair. The deep laser penetration of target tissue is the key to the effectiveness of the Class IV lasers available at Holistic Health & Wellness. These lasers have proven invaluable in treating disc injuries, arthritis pain, sciatica, tendonitis, knee, elbow, and neck pain, carpal tunnel, wound care, sinusitis, skin conditions, neuralgia and neuropathies. Arthrostim/Vibracussor Hammer are awesome chiropractic tools which provide for gentle adjustments and facilitate healing through improved circulation, myofacial release, muscular reducation and mobilization. Patients love these instruments and often giggle from percussion sensation.
BioMeridian Health Assessment
BioMeridian Health Assessment measures the energy at the meridian points, direct the practitioner to probable areas of imbalance. By introducing a low voltage electrical charge into the body, the precise level of electric current conducted through the acupuncture points is measured. This provides vital information about various organ systems including musculoskeletal as well as the stress level of individual systems, i.e., respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive system, etc. This sensitivity is vital to addressing the most salient health issues and also the less critical issues before become big health problems.
